"U GATE" is a 3-year temporary structure for the market vendor's elderly parent and children, a small fabric DIY workshop where elderly and children can stay and make their own style clothes together during market vendors are at work, because there are lots of waste clothes and textiles from the market's textiles stalls, the fabric DIY workshop is set to involve with eco-structure and environmental activity. Furthermore, the purpose of the gateway is to reactivate the unused stalls in Old Laundry Yard.

The concept of the project is to create a new gateway to reactivate the Old Laundry Yard with the wider main entrance, and "U GATE" means the "U" is extended from the arch element of the viaduct.
