The impact of the Turner Contemporary may be positive for Margate, but in the South East of Britain, unemployment for 18-24-year-olds in Thanet is the highest. We will design a further education establishment that focuses on the teaching of manual skills. Assuming that conventional systems of education have failed to reach the unemployed, new methods may need to be used suggesting new kinds of spaces for a laboratory of learning.

‘Margate Boat Laboratory’ as a place to encourage students to better explore the enjoyment and interest of boatbuilding from different sizes of boats, students will start to make their unique style of power model boat, and there is a weather laboratory to provide them with test model boats in various weather condition,  and there is a larger water pool outside the building, weekly model boat competitions are held to increase their fun for the boat. 

First-year students to learn the manual wooden model boat, and in the form of team cooperation to create a small scale of wooden and fiberglass sailboats and includes physical training and basic sailing skills, the second-year students will learn 3D printing for the model boat, and make a bigger proportion of fishing boats to help the local fishing industry, but also contains the physical training and more professional sailing skills.
