The Thanet District Council hopes to have a special fish and chips shop on Margate seafront. Unlike other ordinary fish and chips shops, it could be a space full of entertainment or more interesting, but it must also integrate Margate's Characteristic elements to attract more tourists to Margate and leave special memories for them.

The proposed client is Dreamland Margate. The client wants the fish and chip shop to have a dialogue with dreamland, which means this fish and chip shop is the new Dreamland restaurant. According to the conversation with them before, most visitors are aged between 3 -14.  Since the amusement park's restaurants are all fast-food restaurants and there is not a good entertainment environment and attraction point in the old restaurant, children have no patience to spend time in the restaurant.

‘Sandland’as a new landmark of Dreamland Margate to restore the local vitality, attract more people from the local community and other visitors. At the same time, it is also a fish and chips shop with a fusion of local landscapes. The most distinctive feature of the restaurant is the use of sand from Margate beach as the material for the ground floor, because it creates a potential spatial landscape for the restaurant, bringing the landscape into the building so that people can continue to enjoy the feeling of being on the beach in the restaurant.
